La Ciaspolada in Val di Non: the original that is not afraid of imitations

La Ciaspolada is the quintessence of Val di Non in winter: tradition, sport, fun and good company. All the ingredients to make this race in the snow on snowshoes unmissable. Started back in 1973, every year La Ciaspolada brings thousands of people to our valley who participate in the race, the non-competitive race or as simple spectators of an event that has a long history behind it.

To participate in the non-competitive section you don’t need much experience. Using snowshoes is easy, you just need basic sports training, a desire to have fun and that’s all! If you don’t have your own snowshoes just let us know when you register, and the organizing committee will send them to your office or directly where you are staying.

The one and only race on the snow with snowshoes since 1973

The one and only La Ciaspolada event is the one in Val di Non: we started it in this valley way back in 1973, and we were the first. Since then it has become an example for other events and now there are snowshoe races all over the world. The largest and best one, recognized as the world championships is ours: La Ciaspolada.

The most important race on snow in all Italy: La Ciaspolada is a tourist event!

Everyone can take part in La Ciaspolada: athletes, families, simple mountain lovers, and tourists that come to watch one of the most famous events in the world. Apart from being a real race, there is also the fun race that is open to everyone. To follow there’s the lottery with great prizes!

Snowshoeing all winter

We warn you: there is the possibility that when you participate in La Ciaspolada in Val di Non you will suddenly feel the uncontrollable need to go on snowshoeing excursions and fall in love with this sport. We have thought of this too: we provide guided excursions and routes you can do on your own and we can give you tips on where to buy or hire your snowshoes .

While you are in Val di Non in the winter between your snowshoeing sessions on the snow you can enjoy all the marvellous things to do in this part of Trentino!
